About Us - The Forum

Function

To involve governors and to engage their expertise.

To develop governors' understanding of the issues affecting schools.

To provide a broad forum to discuss and develop long term strategies; these may include issues raised by the Headteacher Group.

To suggest action to the Headteacher Group.

To provide members to sit on steering groups when action is taken. It will then monitor the work of these groups to ensure benefit to all Frome schools.

To appoint FCLP staff and ensure these staff are well managed and supported.

Chair to liaise with FCLP Executive leader re: Forum (Steering) Group meeting Agendas, and to be a 'voice' at FCLP events.

To explore establishing the FCLP as a trust.

Membership

All members of the Executive Group.

The Chair of Governors of all schools not already represented by their headteacher.
Additional governors from the middle schools and college in order to ensure that 'post 9' education is fairly represented.

Other 'key' Headteachers or governors may attend meetings if there is an issue of particular interest to a school. However, each school will only have only one vote so any 'delegation' from a school can only cast one vote.

Meetings

Once per term.

A Chairman who is elected at the first meeting each year chairs meetings. Minutes are distributed to headteachers at all FCLP Schools.
