The Music Project
The aim of the project has been to work together within the FCLP and in close partnership with Somerset Music and other bodies to expand our provision and offer a range of creative opportunities through music for our children and young people.
We are striving for:
- Inter-school music visits and a programme of performance opportunities across schools
- Increasing numbers of children committing to instrumental tuition across the FCLP
- Strengthening further our links with Somerset Music, Jackdaws Educational Trust, Frome Festival and other partners
- Developing an out-of-hours programme for young musicians across the FCLP as part of our extended schools provision
- Contributing to the vision for a collaborative approach to Music and the Arts in Frome
- Taking up an opportunity for a cultural Music and Art project with Mostar
- Providing gifted and talented musicians an opportunity to engage creatively with children of similar ability
In the coming year we have a new coordinator and are hoping to build on the progress made in this last year. The pupils have done some amazing work and working together has achieved far more than we expected. Frome active will be advertising events in the coming year and we hope for even greater participation and opportunity.
